Destiny Announces Release of Play MPE® v.4 Client Software

Play MPE® v.4 Available in 24 Languages; New Design Features Include MP3 Export and Improved Download Speed and Reliability

Vancouver, BC – April 20th, 2009 – Destiny Media Technologies (DSNY-OTCBB) is pleased to announce Play MPE® v.4 is now available for download for Windows users. The Mac version is expected to be available in the third week of May. The new player release for recipients follows on the heels of Play MPE v.4 encoder software for labels, released on March 5th.

This new player software features numerous upgrades, including improved availability as the client software is able to access the closest server facility, providing better download reliability and speed. Other features include : improved track ordering for Digital Audio Players, enhancements to the track information screen, printable CD inlay cards and MP2 and MP3 export.

The Play MPE® v.4 system allows users to securely download HD audio to authorized machines, which is received in a locked format. Recipients with the appropriate digital rights as granted by the label can “drag and drop” to unlock, then burn the track directly to CD, export the WAV file and meta data for use in third party software packages, or  export directly into AAC, WMA, MP2 or MP3 for playback on iPods and other player hardware.

The suite of Play MPE® v.4 software represents a new global approach to secure digital media distribution. Labels can upload audio, video, graphic and text assets from one location, while managing recipient lists collaboratively from branch locations. Regional offices can localize marketing content and release dates or coordinate for simultaneous global release. The new expanded language support will facilitate more rapid adoption of the system by international recipients.

The player software is now available in most European languages and Japanese. The new system supports: Belarusian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Estonian, Finish, French, German, Greek, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Latvian, Lithuanian, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Spanish, Swedish, Turkish and Ukrainian. Other languages will be added in future updates as utilization of the system expands outside of Europe and North America.
