Clipstream Video Powers US-India Summit
March 17, 2006 – Vancouver, BC - Destiny Media Technologies (DSNY OTC, DME Frankfurt) is pleased to announce that Clipstream™ partner, Grus Media Works (http://www.grus-india.com) provided the streaming for the Indo US Initiative on Technopreneurship in Academia and Industry conference, which was held at the Hotel Shangri-La in New Delhi. This high profile summit was organized by the Indo US Science and Technology Forum http://indousstf.org.
The Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry http://ficci.com handled webcasting and they contracted with Grus Media Works to provide Clipstream™ streaming for the event.
Speakers at the conference featured leaders of academia, research and industry in the United States and India. Included were many speakers from MIT and Harvard and equivalent institutions of management and engineering in India.
Other large organizations associated with this event included InfoDev http://www.infodev.org/ (an arm of the World Bank), the Department of Science & Technology (government of India) and the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, India http://www.csir.res.in/.
Maj. Abhijit Bhattacharjee, CEO of Grus Media Works commented "Clipstream™ was a wonderful choice which satisfied our clients very much when they could make an announcement on the second day of the proceedings that the first days’ lectures were already streaming from the web. The lightweight Clipstream™ videos played quite fine across the standard broadband connections in India."
"The simultaneous archival feature of Clipstream™ Live was a great facility because we could straightway upload the content after the days’ event without any further video processing or time lost in encoding. The HTML templates were already in place. Previous attempts using other technologies by the same clients had led to disastrous results due to the many constraints of other technologies, that don’t deliver reliably on the final day."
"We see this opportunity as a big one because so many reputed organizations were exposed to our technologies and services. The list of panelists and the participants looked like an Indian Who's Who. We are looking at saturating the Indian mindscape. Coincidently, the largest selling computer magazine PCQuest was also carrying Clipstream™ software on its CD ROM the same month."
