Promo Only MPE Delivers Mac First to Digital Distribution Music Market

Leading Digital Delivery System to Offer New Features Including iPod Support and Music Video Delivery

Vancouver, BC – February 2, 2006 – Destiny and marketing partner Promo Only today made it another industry first unveiling a Mac version of its leading digital distribution system. The Promo Only MPE System is the only product of its kind to offer full Mac support.

In keeping with a tradition of listening to and acting upon end-user demands and with 42,000,000 iPod devices sold to date, the new system will also provide a host of enhanced features, including full iPod support. The Promo Only MPE System will be first of its kind to work in conjunction with the iPod, further distinguishing itself from market competitors.

New features include the following:

  • Music video delivery - users will now be able to watch previews of music videos through the Promo Only MPE System. The Promo Only MPE System will support Windows Media, QuickTime and Real files
  • iPod support – users will be able to export AAC files directly from their Promo Only MPE player into iTunes. Files will be transferred at a user specified bit-rate ranging from 128 to 320. The Promo Only MPE System will also auto-import supporting graphics and song information
  • Linear HD file support - the new Promo Only MPE System also supports the full delivery of linear HD versions of every track, distributed through the system, supporting satellite providers (XM, Sirius) and HD radio stations

“As a long time Mac advocate, we are delighted that Promo Only is the first to launch a Mac version of a digital music distribution system,” said Jim Robinson, CEO of Promo Only. “The Promo Only MPE System continues to innovate and set industry standards. This new software is not just a "port" to the Mac OS, but was built from the ground up with the Mac user in mind and integrates seamlessly with an iPod.”

“With iPod support our customers will be able to directly transfer music files and graphics straight from the Promo Only MPE System onto their iPods. Our system gives consumers a product that is flexible enough to meet their needs, allowing us to immediately get music to new audiences and markets,” concluded Robinson.

“With the addition of Mac compatibility as well as significant enhancements to the player’s features, we are confident that the Promo Only MPE System will maintain its position as the digital distribution system of choice for the music industry in 2006,” added Dean Ernst, Director of Promo Only MPE. “Increasingly customers are turning to us to better their end-user experience. These new additions will continue to build upon the reputation of excellence we have established in this area.”
