Company Signs Another Partner in Quest to Become "Industry Standard"

“Our MPE™ technology is already supported by the Destiny Media Player™ and secure watermarked versions of MPE™ tracks can be exported to CD,” said Destiny Media’s CEO, Steve Vestergaard. “However, for the MPE™ technology to become the standard music delivery format, we will need strong support from third party products. I’m pleased we are able to partner with Visiosonic as we pursue our strategy to become the industry standard for delivering content to radio, the recording industry and to commercial customers.”

The MPE™ system is uniquely suited for digital delivery of music. Songs are locked down so they will only play on authorized computers. If the songs are exported to CD, a digital watermark is invisibly embedded into the song, so the originating computer can be identified. The quality is significantly higher than an MP3 file of similar size and an MPE™ can be configured to play itself. Songs are announced via a Clipstream™ powered playerless preview email. A sophisticated “back end” digital rights management system provides statistical reporting and online access to a catalogue of authorized tracks.

Since the Canadian recording industry began using the MPE™ delivery system in October 2003, a total of 933 tracks have been released to radio, providing music directors nearly instant access to the latest music. There are currently 1041 registered users of the system in Canada.
