The Country music newsletter Country Aircheck is reporting that the new Garth Brook's single "More Than A Memory" broke Play MPE's records in a 24-hour period

In more ABC Radio Networks news, John Rosso has been named Sr. VP/Citadel Interactive platforms, including those of ABC Radio. Rosso wil lead the expansion of Citadel's digitial initiatives, including websites and more than 200 streaming stations.

» Canon Aid: Royal Gorge Broadcasting KTSY/Canon City, CO will return as a local Country outlet Saturday (9/1) after just two years of a five-year lease to KKCS/Colorado Springs owner Superior Broadcasting, which simulcast KKCS on KTSY.

» Lincoln Park: Congrats to the team at KVOO/Tulsa for exceeding their goal of collecting one million pennies ($10,000) to benefit Therapetics Service Dogs of Oklahoma. Listeners donated 1,415,862 copper coins and morning co-hosts Andy O and Jean personally gave an additional 84,138 pennies bringing the total to 1,500,000 one-cent pieces. » You Don't Go Grabbin' Somebody Else's Footballs: Warner Bros.' Faith Hill will perform the theme song for NBC's Sunday Night Football this season. A special opening-night version of "Waiting All Day For Sunday Night" will air Thursday Sept. 6 as the entire 2007 NFL season kicks off with the Colts hosting the Saints. The Sunday night schedule begins Sept. 9 with the Giants visiting the Dallas Cowboys.

» Uptown Download Good Ol' Boy: Digital single delivery service Play MPE reports that Garth Brooks' "More Than A Memory" is the most-downloaded song in a 24-hour period in the company's history, and is on its way to becoming the most-downloaded track ever. The song also ranked as the No. 2 streamed selection in its first 24 hours.

» Dance Fever: The first musical guest on this year's Dancing With The Stars will be Dolly Parton, who will perform on the first results show following the Sept. 24 premiere on ABC.


» Good Ride Cowgirl: The title for Carrie Underwood's Oct. 23 album release is Carnival Ride.

» Eye Witness News: Lofton Creek's Carmen Rasmussen had a close call with a guitar last night while subbing for Taylor Swift at the Mohegan Sun casino last night. Lofton Creek VP/Promotion Joe Redmond described it for Country Aircheck. "She told the crowd, 'I think I just got hit in the head by my guitar player,' but finished the show. People in the front row were gasping because blood was pouring out from a cut above her eye. She ended up with only two stitches - it looked much worse than it ended up being. After we rushed her to the hospital and had her all fixed up she was asking for ice cream, so we knew she was okay."
