Atlantic Records' 'Get It Poppin' - Fat Joe featuring Nelly' Distributed Exclusively First Via Promo Only MPE
ORLANDO, Fla., May 2, 2005---Promo Only and Technology partner Destiny Media Technologies announced today that Atlantic Records has distributed its new single from Fat Joe featuring Nelly, "Get it Poppin'," exclusively first through the Promo Only MPE system. "Get it Poppin'" was made available to Top40/CHR, Urban and Rhythmic radio formats all at the same time on May 2nd at 12:01 am ET.
"We expect a huge response from radio to this track and many instant adds," said John McCann, Senior VP, Pop and Crossover Promotions for Atlantic Records. "Promo Only MPE gives us the ability to immediately distribute our music, faster and more securely than any other service."
"Atlantic Records is a huge name in the music business and to have them choose Promo Only MPE to deliver the new Fat Joe track first says a lot about the speed, efficiency and effectiveness of our product," said Dean Ernst, Director of the Promo Only MPE project.
Atlantic Records, part of Warner Music Group, is just the latest to utilize the Promo Only MPE system joining Universal Music Group (UMG) which uses the Promo Only MPE System exclusively to digitally deliver CD-quality audio files to every US major market radio station. Other labels such as the RCA Music Group and the Zomba Label Group, part of Sony BMG, are also using the system.
In addition, Mediabase, a division of Premiere Radio Networks, has entered into an exclusive partnership to implement the Promo Only MPE System into their service. Clear Channel has been using the Promo Only MPE System since September of 2004 and has approved and authorized its use in all of their US stations.
Promo Only MPE is currently in use by such radio groups as Cumulus, Infinity, Cox, Citadel, Radio One, Emmis, Entercom, Sirius, Journal, ABC, DMX, Disney, Univision, Westwood One, Regent, Next Media and a number of other media groups.
Promo Only MPE is a highly sophisticated security system, which locks down the distributed tracks and allows labels to specifically authorize their content to a unique user. Each song is uniquely encrypted so that only those with the Promo Only MPE software can access it. Users can have access to their account on multiple machines therefore making the system completely portable.
Promo Only MPE, which is free to radio, is the music industry's most secure option for digital music delivery. Radio stations can request an account for the Promo Only MPE service by filling out the online form. Promo Only MPE is a product of Destiny Media Technologies and is exclusively marketed and distributed by Promo Only.
