Web Users can Access or Broadcast Live Television Through Their Home Computer using the latest version of Clipstream™
Sept. 12, 2002
Vancouver, BC -- Destiny Media Technologies Inc. (OTCBB:DSNY) is pleased to announce the release of a prototype of the latest generation of their Clipstream ™ technology. Clipstream TV ™ enables web users to watch live television broadcasts inside a standard web page. Users need not install any third party player software to watch the television broadcasts.
The prototype demonstration and live broadcast can be viewed at http://www.clipstream.com/demo/live/index.shtml.
Ed Kolic, Destiny director, comments on the implications of Clipstream TV™, "What's revolutionary is the fact that anyone with a standard home based PC can become a television broadcaster. The 500-channel universe has just been expanded into the 5 million-channel universe."
Clipstream TV™ is a Java based technology which reaches almost three times as many users as other streaming technologies. More importantly, it will be highly scaleable and will require minimal server infrastructure. It will be easy for television stations to reach subscribers globally.
In a corporate environment, the technology can be used to rebroadcast a live television signal or video camera signal directly to the desktop. Clipstream™ will broadcast through firewalls and proxies which are compatible with HTTP 1.1.
Destiny VP Operations, John Gammack comments on the potential opportunities this opens up, "It becomes simple for almost anyone to set up their own specialty broadcast television station using their home computer and a video source. Unlimited possibilities!"
